Brilliant Minds Early Childhood Centre
A boutique Early Childhood Center inspired by Te Whariki's approach to learning at Three Kings.
TeWhariki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum is the basis of our teaching. We strive to create a welcoming, nurturing and home-like environment that can inspire children. Parents and whanau will be treated as valued community members. We offer a place where children can learn about the foundations of TeAoMaori and TeTiriti O Waitangi, as well as acknowledge Maoris as Tangata Whenua. We offer a rich bicultural experience that helps children value the New Zealand culture and its way of life. We apprize the diversity of cultures at our centre and aim to build respectful relationships between Whanau, Tamariki and our educators. We acknowledge all ethnic groups by respecting their cultural identity, heritage and language. We ensure that all children have equal learning opportunities, irrespective of their age, ability, race, or ethnicity. Children learn through respectful, nurturing and calm environments. We derive inspiration from Te-Whariki (2017) where children are active participants in their own learning and develop reciprocal relationships with their teachers. We believe that children have multiple ways to express themselves. They are encouraged by observation and exploration to foster critical thinking. We encourage our educators respect the child's choice and value their experiences. Open-ended questions are used to challenge and stimulate ideas. Children can make mistakes and learn by them. The child's learning and developmental progress is observed, documented, displayed, and shared with the parents. We aim to create a place for encounter and connection, dialogue and interaction.
